Macau has become a Special Administrative Region of the People’s Republic of China since 20 December 1999. It is situated on the south-eastern coast of China, in the Pearl River Delta of the Guangdong Province. The territory comprises the Macau Peninsula, the Taipa and the Coloane Islands. The two islands are connected to the peninsula by two bridges. |
